A Caravana

On our Eco Quinta we have recently refurbished a caravan into a glamping site. The caravan is surrounded by nature and has a mountain view. You can hear the river Alva running downhill. It's a great place to relax, read a book in the hammock, go for walks or swimming. To take a swim in the river, at a private beach, you hike down for 15 minutes. We also have a large swimming pool on the property if you want to take a dive. The caravan is protected from sun and rain by a roof. It has a double bed, table and lots of storage space. A big outdoor kitchen is attached to the terrace. There is a hot shower and compost toilet. The land around the caravan is flat and a tent can accommodate more people.

The caravan is located on our quinta where we live with our family. We also have two houses for rent. We often host meditation retreats and have a yurt for yoga. We can accomadte groups when people stay in tents. We have a communal table under the grape vines an host weekly pizza nights. The Quinta has lots of grapes, olive and fruit trees and a large herb garden. We grow them for own use and produce small amounts of wine, olive oil and grape juice. We have a large swimmingpool, table tennis, playground, games & books to share. We are the last farm of the small village and from here on you only have the walking trail to the river. We have spectacular views of the mountain, Serra do Estrela, Serra do Acor. Coja is the closest town with nice cafes and shops. You could walk there from us if you are up for a good walk.

We have a private river beach downhill at the River Alva. From our place you can hike to the town of Coja or the river beach/Praia Fluvial of Secarias. In our Village, Meda de Mouros there is one cafe/shop where you can buy basic needs. We can organize a massage on request. If enough people are around and interested we could organize a yoga lesson.

There are several weekly markets in the area. Arganil is a nice town closeby ( 15min) with many supermarkets, cafes and the weekly market. In Tabua ( 15 min) you also have enough shopping possibility and there is an organic shop with a big selection of goods. Coja is a small town close by for essential shopping and drinking coffe on the square with nice pastry.

Our farm is off grid and powered by solar. We grow organic fruits and vegetables. We restored the old schist houses and have been living here for 25 years. Through the years we have planted a large variety of trees and plants. It is a true green oasis. We have a meditation garden with fish pond to sit in silence and enjoy all that is around you. If you are interested in helping out in the garden we are very happy to learn you about all the plants we have.

The caravan cost €200 a week. Minimum stay is a week. Cleaning costs after leaving are € 40,- We have three dogs, 5 cats and a pony. It is busy enough so preferably no pets.
