Tiny Cabin

Tiny bungalow on our farm where we have goats, chickens, cats and dogs. Remote location! ... Only for adventurous people ;)

This tiny one room wooden cabin has a basic kitchen, a double bed and a small mezzanine under the roof. The open kitchen area has a small fridge, a gas oven and basic kitchenware. There is a private bathroom with hot water, shower and toilet just outside, attached to the cabin. The cabin has a wood burner that comfortably heats the house in winter. There is a shared washing machine available on the land that can be used by our guests and volunteers. Occasionally our guests can use our private swimming pool. (Times to be discussed) The Tiny Cabin accommodation is small but comfortable and very cozy! Ideal for a single person or a couple. Be aware that there is no separate bedroom and that the sleeping area is on a open mezzanine, all in the same room as the kitchen and the living area. 'Studio style' There is not much storage area but enough for the basic belongings that are needed during your stay. The space is ideal for a remote worker looking for peace, silence and nature. Or ideal for a temporary stay while you are scouting the area to find your own property. The Cabin is located on our farm where we as hosts also live and work. The cabin looks out over our goats and chicken area and there are two other accommodations on the farm for other guests and our volunteers. Depending on the season we have milk, fresh cheese, eggs, fruits and vegetables available! As we have cats, dogs, goats, ducks and chicken on the farm we are not very keen on having other pets or animals staying here as it often disturbs the peace and harmony between them, only very well behaved and trained dogs can be considered. Our cats are very territorial and might fight with other cats on the land. The rental does not include internet but the mobile reception on the land is very good and if you provide your own hotspot or data it is perfectly possible to work online. If needed we do have a Vodafone router that can be used with a top-up data card.

The land is privately located between 4 little traditional villages where you can enjoy the daily Portuguese life. Each village has a local café, a tiny grocery shop with some basics and a historical center to have a peaceful walk. Important!!! Be aware that the access is along a almost 2km dirt track that separates us from the outside world. The access is quite good, also with a normal car, although a little bit bumpy here and there... The tracks can get quite muddy in rainy winter periods so a little bit of a adventurous mindset and some driving skills are required to stay here over winter. Having your own transport is required as relying on public transport is not an option here! NO CAR NO RENTAL We are located at about 15min drive from Oliveira do Hospital and Seia

There are a lot of outdoor activities in the region and many interesting cultural and historical places to visit. You can go kayaking, horse riding, climbing, swimming, hiking and many more... The cities 'Seia' and 'Oliveira do Hospital' are located about 15 minutes driving from our land, where you can find supermarkets, tourist center, medical center and many other facilities... In 1 hour drive you are at the top of the Serra da Estrela mountain where you have the most amazing views! On the way up you can enjoy a refreshing pause at the lakes, rivers and even waterfalls!

Our quinta is the perfect place for people who are looking for a complete mental relaxation, being surrounded by nature, far away from civilization and for those who like to observe some of the activities on our farm... We grow our own fruits and vegetables and we have goats and chickens who give us daily milk and eggs.

LONG TERM rentals ( minimum stay of 3 months, costs not included ): - First month: 380€ - After the first month: 330€/month - Excluding internet: The cabin has no internet but the mobile reception is really good! If you bring your own hotspot or mobile data then you can perfectly work online. - Excluding gas and electricity fee: The costs will be depending on your consume and the amount of people staying. - The cabin has a wood burner but the cost for firewood is not included in the rent and will also depend on you consume. - Bedlinen and towels can be provided if needed. ONE MONTH rental: €500 All costs and facilities included (internet not provided) IMPORTANT! The house does not have a individual address. Therefore we can NOT provide a rental contract that can be used for any residency related purpose. The house is considered as a bungalow and is only available for temporary stays.
