Refurbished Historical Coaching Inn consisting of a large Country House and swimming pool, 5-7 Large bedrooms, can sleep up to 21 people , 5-7 bathrooms , large garden, 1.21 hectares, with olives and orange and fruit trees with the additional benefit of a very large Country Barn (14,7m) suitable for large events of all kinds that must be reserved separately. Situated 25 mins from Évora. Lisbon 1.5 hours by motorway.

The house is perfect for families and has principally 5 double bedrooms (2 have single beds) having their own private bathroom ensuite. In addition we have 2 further bedrooms which will have to share other bathrooms at present. The house with the additional bedrooms 7 in total can hold up to 21 people using extra portable beds if required. There is a large dining room with huge fireplace with all origional Alentejo antique furnishings There is a large lounge with TV direct onto the swimming pool additional indoor flower filled courtyard garden and onto the kitchen. There is a beautifully modern fully equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer, Range Master oven, dishwasher, cutlery, crockery and outdoor supersize barbeque. Giving you a home experience. The house is very spacious and has high ceilings throughout. The beautiful large swimming pool and inviting sundeck are the central point of the home. There is a great deal of space for gathering for meals, chatting, of simply passing the time in the deck-chairs as the sun gently recharges your reserves. We work with a local catering company of a very high standard who is able to quote for catering at any level or events in our stunning antique barn. It has fast Starlink internet access with two really good interconnected wifi throughout the whole house.

Our local village, Vimieiro (5 minutes’ drive) has an excellent convenience store, pharmacy, clinic, petrol station etc. to cover most of your needs. From your base at Monte da Estalagem you can find so many activities to cater to every need like hiking and cycling. It is great to combine your stay with so much activity – but not to forget the special time for yourself and your family, right here on the property. Vimieiro has a few local restaurants, the most notable being Tremelega. Check out their page to get to know them.

There are 3 or 4 major supermarkets in the towns nearby. Activities: - You can visit Évora which is classified as Unesco World Heritage and will be the Capital of European Culture in 2027. There are many monuments to explore, the Roman Temple, churches and cathedrals. The megalithics in the area are amazing. You can also enjoy just to walk around the city defensive walls. For the most adventurous ones you can also go karting. - In Evoramonte there is a beautiful castle for you to explore and hike. - In Arraiolos you can also visit the castle, as well as museums of this typical tapestry and get to know the traditional pastry. - You can take advantage of our location being directly on the wine route path through Alentejo and visit some vineyards like our neighbours Mainova, Herdade das Servas, Adega do Monte Branco, Monte da Comenda, and many others, and experience the wine tasting. Eating out: - Nearby, in Estremoz you can find Gadanha Mercearia, an excellent restaurant which offers traditional regional dishes with a modern twist and has a spectacular wine cellar. One other option is Alecrim, a lovely restaurant with an updated version of local dishes and a large collection of wines. You can also visit Venda Azul which is a very traditional restaurant, really popular amongst the locals. It has a great service and massive portions. Howard's Folly is an adega/bar/restaurant with a modern an sophisticated décor, that serves petiscos (the Portuguese version of tapas). -In Évora you have an enormous variety of options for all tastes, form sushi, to burger places, to fine dining and everything that you want. - You can also visit the Subtilia Wagyu here in Venda do Duque to purchase some real wagyu meat to cook in our large BBQ facilities. - The house is situated next to the wine route path through Alentejo so there are two vineyards with restaurants nearby which are Herdade das Servas in Estremoz and Adega de Borba in Borba. We can attest to the tranquil location of the property it’s ability to be able to de stress and deliver a sense of restfulness - something difficult to find in today’s modern world. Here we are happy to provide everything you may need for a week or longer with the family, a reunion with friends or the space to think through the details of the next corporate venture. We do allow a maximum of 2 pets in the property but only in the summer months The minimum length of stay is 2 nights and the maximum is 1 month. The price is 750€ per night if you book 3 or more nights. The cleaning fee is €125per stay and another 30€ per pet if the guests bring pets with them. We offer a 15% discount for weekly stays and for monthly stays. Check in at 4pm Check out at 11 a.m.
