An enchanting, small scale rural estate in the Algarve – an ”all season” haven. The inspiring estate is located in the South-West Algarve, the region that is blessed with the most sun hours of Europe, 5km from the lively harbour town of Lagos and 1,5km from the white, sandy beach of Meia Praia bay. As the accommodation is built on a hilltop, there are magnificent views of the rural country with its old almond, fig and olive trees. The authentic and personal character of the place creates an open and relaxed atmosphere. Guests can freely explore the grounds, pick fruit, herbs and vegetables, collect eggs, dream away in a hammock or take a dive in the large swimming pool. The main building and the accommodation have been lovingly built and restored, with an eye for detail.

The price listed is for the smallest unit, the most expensive one ranges from 1050 euro per week to 1850 euro per week. There are two guest-houses, a Loft apartment and two rooms, all in a private setting. All units are connected by a lush inner garden with old olive trees, stone paths and steps, herb and vegetable patches and fruit trees. In the centre of the garden you´ll find a stone paved circle with a traditional bread oven and a barbecue. Occasionally we will light the oven and arrange a pizza gathering with guests and friends. ´A Granja' (2 + infant) has a cosy living room with kitchen, a bedroom with double bed and a spacious bathroom. The house is surrounded by terraces, each with their own view and atmosphere. A Granja boasts a beautiful outdoor kitchen with barbecue. 'A Vivenda' (2-5) is an independent guest house with a spacious living room with a fireplace, a separate kitchen with panorama view, two bedrooms and a bathroom. From the private veranda and terrace you have restful views of the surrounding countryside. The ´Loft Apartment´ (2-5), with extra bedroom, has a vintage style living kitchen and a spacious bathroom. At the heart of the Loft Apartment you´ll find a breath-taking, bright, 50m2 lounge with a comfortable sleeping area. The cosy bedroom with wooden floor and ceiling sleeps 3. The apartment has its own entrance and French doors in the kitchen give onto a terrace and to the inner garden. The ´Chapel Suite´ (2) is a beautiful room with kitchenette and a romantic bathroom in Moorish style . Big doors open onto a private terrace and to the inner garden. The ´Chapel Room´ (2) is a lovely room with kitchenette and bathroom, also in Moorish style. The entrance door gives onto a gallery that leads to the inner garden. All units can be rented separately or in combination with one or more units.

There is a large, ‘lagoony’ swimming pool with a shallow corner and a little waterfall that creates a relaxing, splattering sound while you’re dozing away on your sun bed or in your hammock.

The closest non touristy village, Odiáxere, has a small daily vegetable and fish market, a traditional bakery (wood oven), several shops, cafés and restaurants. The Quinta is a ‘home from home’ and an exquisite place for relaxation and contemplation. It also is a perfect point of departure for walking and hiking in the Algarve: around the Quinta, land inward in the Serra de Monchique or the Nature Reserve of Ria Formosa (birdwatching), along the cliffs of the beautiful South and West Coast. Also the 'Via Algarviana', an ancient pilgrims’ route from the Spanish border to the West coast is worth a walk. Besides walking, there are excellent opportunities for mountain biking, surfing, sailing, fishing or other (water) activities. There are plenty unspoilt, coved beaches where you may find yourself alone with the wind and the seagulls. In the accommodation you’ll find a folder with extensive information.

The south-west of Portugal has the most sun hours and the cleanest air in Europe and facilitates many outdoor activities - stimulating peoples’ contact with nature and awareness of its value. At this moment we have an organic vegetable garden, several fruit gardens and a diversity of flowering plants to attract bees and butterflies all year round. There are two solar systems, one for electricity and one for hot water and heating. The back-up of the hot water system is a biomass-burner. Rainwater is collected, we recycle authentic building materials of architectural value, and, whenever possible, we use natural materials in the developing processes. We use ecologically friendly cleaning products and recycle waste materials in order to create the lowest environmental impact possible.
