Introduction
Farm / SmallholdingThe Quinta, perched on the slopes of its own 1.6ha wooded valley, is a tranquil rural retreat offering bespoke self-catering accommodation for guests seeking an escape from the daily hustle and bustle.
The original farmhouse and outbuildings were painstakingly and lovingly renovated over a 10 year period providing a total of 5 accommodations. They all have their own private entrances and outdoor spaces with BBQs, and although linked by a central courtyard, they each are orientated to give privacy.

Children FriendlySelf CateringBBQCar ParkingInternetTVWashing FacilitiesFurnishedThe Mediterranean is a romantic suite for a couple and was originally the farm’s adega where the wine was made and stored. When we bought the property, it still held a few dozen bottles of very dusty vintage wine (which, to put it delicately, were 'corked'). You won’t be surprised to hear that it has been entirely renovated, and the central feature is the original winepress screw, relocated to hold up the main ceiling beam.
The breakfast bar is clad in wine-box panels and faces the exposed stone wall of the fully equipped gourmet kitchen. This feature wall continues through to the luxurious bathroom with its custom walk-in shower.
The lounge/dining area has a flat-screen TV and a modern, easy-to-use pellet burner. The queen-sized bed is situated to take full advantage of the panoramic views of the private garden and valley through the floor-to-ceiling window. Glazed sliding double doors from the lounge provide access to your private wrap-around terrace with BBQ, and your garden swing seat is perfect for cocktail hour.
Sailing into the Mediterranean through the Straits of Gibraltar was a special experience, and we hope that your time in The Mediterranean will be as well.
Having worked in the charter yacht industry for almost 2 decades as Captain and Chef catering to ‘high-end’ clientele including celebrities and a serving Prime Minister, we feel we have an innate sense of when guests want to have interaction or be left on their own. Having experienced all the processes involved in relocating here and undertaken such an extensive building process, we feel we are well qualified to give independent and personal input concerning the various pitfalls and procedures that a potential expat might encounter.
Looking for your new home is an adventure but we appreciate it can be a stressful process. We have converted the original farmhouse, barn, outdoor kitchen and stables to a standard well above what would be normally expected in a rental and we are confident that having a comfortable and homely base to return to whilst searching, will reduce your headache and inspire you! Relax on your terrace or enjoying the hiking trails from the property with our dogs (or your own - some of our accommodations are pet friendly).
We look forward to hearing from you!
