Christmas Villages
Christmas markets are a way to buy original and handcrafted gifts and, moreover, invite you to get to know local people, gastronomy and traditions. From north to south of the country there is no shortage of options.
Presépio de Portugal (Alenquer)
For three weeks, a huge range of events associated with Christmas and the 'Singing and Painting the Kings' surprises visitors, providing unique moments of leisure and fun for all family specially younger ones.', 'This village of queens becomes a true Christmas Village, full of charm and magic!
Presépio de Priscos (Braga)
The Europe's largest living Nativity scene could only happen in Braga, the city of the archbishops known for its many beautiful churches.
About 800 participants bring the story of Christ's birth to life in more than 90 settings, with reference to Egyptian, Jewish, Roman, Assyrian, Greek and Babylonian cultures. The space is about 30,000m2 which, by itself, says a lot about the grandeur of the event.
The event also features four major shows: 'The Jewish Wedding'; 'Courting of Light'; 'The Judgment' and 'The Funeral'.

Jardim de Natal (Évora)
At Praça 1º de Maio concentrates the Christmas animation of this Alentejo city, with an ice rink, Santa Claus house and Christmas market.
The program features a tournament of traditional games, Christmas tales, musical theatre shows, choir groups and various workshops for children (upon registration). Highlight for the 2nd World Heritage Cities Artisans Meeting.

Cidade Natal (Leiria)
Leiria welcomes Christmas with ice rink, cribs exhibition, carousel, electric car track, Christmas train, workshops, theatre, peddy papers, sculptures, dance, concerts, sport, recreation elves, mall of solidarity, handicrafts, karaoke, toys, inflatables, animals, tree climbing, reindeer, letters to Santa.
Everything that fits this holiday season is in this Christmas Village that will fill the city with fun and charm.

Castelo Mágico (Montemor-o-Velho)
The castle of Montemor-o-Velho, one of the ex-libris of the region of Coimbra, will be, during December, the home of Christmas dreams.
From Thursday to Sunday, magic will invade the Magic Castle and present kids and adults with circus, inflatable activities, exhibitions, animal rides, an adventure park, Santa's house, unique shows in Portugal, and many other experiences!
Vila Natal (Óbidos)
In its 14th edition, Óbidos Vila Natal offers its visitors moments of magic, music, circus, comedy, theatre and puppets, with several show sessions throughout the day.
Amusements include a ferris wheel, the illusion tunnel, Christmas games, disco, soap ball studio, Christmas crib, face painting, ice ramp, trampolines and, of course, Santa's House.
There will be many moments, with family or friends, to remember the good old days while drawing new dreams in the company of those dearest!
Penela Presépio (Penela)
Penela Nativity Scene is the star that guides you to a magical world, with many moments of animation, color, music, shows, joy, flavours and discoveries of the historical, natural and immaterial heritage.
It is an event divided by several spaces in the municipality, such as the Penela Castle Animated Nativity Scene, the Espinhal Traditional Nativity Scene or the Quintal das Lapas Live Nativity Scene, among other spaces and moments of animation.
Vila Madeiro (Penamacor)
More than a big party, it is a local tradition that encourages the meeting of several generations of Penamacorenses, received every year by young people who celebrate 20 years.
The various activities, from felling the trees at your disposal in the churchyard, to living in the countryside, the endless procession of tractors that transport the gigantic trunks on the 8th December, and the feast of the Immaculate Conception, culminate in the setting of Madeiro, on the night of December 23rd to December 24th.
Perlim (Santa Maria da Feira)
Once again, Perlim will fill all its visitors Christmas with color and fantasy. There are 22 days of animation, music, big musical theatres, playful and pedagogical activities and lots of fun. This 10-year-old project even renovating with a completely original layout, still preserves its unique centennial features, with comfort and enough space.

Cabeça Aldeia Natal (Seia)
The Greenest Christmas in the Country.
'A genuine village. By the hands of genuine people' is the Christmas proposal in Serra da Estrela. Inspired by the values of Christmas, where you live simply and authentically, Aldeia Natal invites visitors to walk the picturesque streets of the village, which boast a creative and ecological decoration.
The decorations are uniquely designed by its residents, using materials taken from nature, which also open the doors of their homes, turning the village and its streets into a true Christmas market.
