Openspace House in Historical Centre

Open space house in historical centre of Castelo de Vide. There are 2 floors of about 23 square meters each, plus a mezzanine and a basement:

- Bath, toilet & double bed are on the ground floor, where entrance is. Double bed has a new firm mattress. - Kitchen has washing machine, electric oven, 4 zone induction plate, fridge, kettle. - Living / eating space is together with the kitchen, where A/C is installed, Haier model with dehumidifier, heating, cooling. - Mezzanine has loads of light thanks to skylight window and is secured with hand-weaved hemp ropes. House has a solar water tank on the roof which is directly powered by electricity to maintain hot water in case no sun🌞 In the cave (basement), there’s a Norwegian fireplace Jotul. Cave has plenty place for firewood storage (up to a tonne) and features a beautiful underground rock. High speed internet (~400mbps download & ~40mbps upload) with monthly payment of 30 euro/month. Most of the details are handcrafted by the owners: bed is made in Japanese style with chestnut frame & beams to match rustic style of ceilings, kitchen counter is made of premium chestnut wood preserving a natural bark wave, shelves are done in the same manner, wall lamps are crafted from old Alentejo roof tiles. We seek for caring & appreciating tenants of handcrafted work and open spaces.

Castelo de Vide is vibrant & charming town, which is famous as being Sintra of Alentejo. It’s a true paradise to live in, with no need for a car. All is walking distance: weekly Friday market, bars & restaurants, swimming pool (indoor and outdoor with the view to the valley), grocery shops, nursery, primary school, health center, and many more like yoga or dance classes. Hiking routes is another breathtaking activity to do daily and walking distance for starting points. Biggest city, like Portalegre, is about 15-20 minutes drive or accessible by public transportation. River Beach, lakes, waterfalls… it’s an amazing opportunity to experience.

We built this project all ourselves with a lot of eye for detail & trying to preserve old traditions. We may share the process of making it on insta crafted.slow.life (hopefully, we find some time to attend to it).

Asked price is €700 monthly plus bills 💸 As orientation, we spent about 200 euro monthly as a family of three over winter time, for electricity / water / internet all together. With contract, no sub-renting. No smoking. In case you have a pet, please, notify beforehand. Minimum is 1 month and maximum 1 year with a possibility to prolongate.
