FurnishedCar ParkingThe property, next to the River Sever and overlooking the Castle, has 17 hectares (~34 acres) with a main house and this rural house, (a cozy shelter in the Nature), that has maintained the original and typical design of the area and is available to accommodate from1 person at a maximum for 8 people as it offers great versatility with 2 independent spaces, but which can be combined into a larger one.
The ground floor house has 2 independent entrances, one at each end of the house.
The west door serves an apartment consisting of a living room measuring approximately 25m2, a Mezzanine bedroom measuring 20m2 and a bathroom. In connection with the living room there is an equipped kitchen measuring 20m2. As furniture, it has 2 beds that if pushed together is a large double bed on the mezzanine, two sofa beds in the living room, several chairs, chest of drawers, chairs and storage. This apartment is suitable for 2 to 3 or even 4 people, but has the capacity to accommodate up to 6 people if necessary.
At the opposite end, East, the entrance door leads to an independent suite with a double bed and single bench, in addition to a complete bathroom. Suitable for 1 or 2 persons.
Due to the versatility of the space, the 2 parts can be combined to form a bigger apartment and thus we will have 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and living room, and a total of 2 double beds, 2 sofa beds and a bench. All rooms have views of the Sever River, which is just 10 meters away and throughout the entire house.
At the moment, the renovation works are ready, only missing the new satellite wifi installation that will be installed until the end of June.
Surroundings
The characteristics of the area, and the previous limitations of internet access, make it the best place to disconnect from the modern world and enjoy the enormous nature that surrounds it: the sound of the river, its many blue dragonflies, the wild native vegetation with many chestnut trees , olive trees and other ancient trees, owls, eagles or simply the sound of sheep clapping on the other side of the river bank is what you can expect if you visit us.
However, we hope that now with the new satellite installed, you will also be able to disconnect and enjoy every minute of this peaceful place.
Location
The property is located in Marvão, the heart of the S. Mamede Natural Park, Portalegre district, which borders the districts of Évora, Santarém and Castelo Branco, as well as neighboring Spain. Its most precise location is in the fertile Aramanha valley, which separates the area of granite outcrops to the north and the drier terrain of Alentejo to the south. This is why this place and the property, limited by the river Sever, have a micro climate and habitat of unique natural diversity,
Portagem do Marvão, less than 1 km from the property, is a leisure center with 2 swimming pools, one of which is a river, some terraces, restaurants and other support services. In terms of swimming pools, there is also another permanent one open all year round, measuring 25m x 10m and five lanes approximately 6km from the house.
Larger and more specialized purchases can be made 7 km away in Castelo de Vide and especially in the District headquarters, Portalalegre (15 km) which has everything, from large supermarkets, Hospital, higher education, more sports pavilions, everything you want. more city dwellers need it.
Alternatively and in a more curious way due to the difference in cultures, you can also take a walk to Spain, which is 12km away and see the “busy” and bustling Spanish society.
But Marvão is not just Nature and beauty; There are many events, from the International Classical Music Festival (FIMM), the Castanha Festival, various fairs and pilgrimages.
Access to Marvão is good through a good network of A1 and A23m motorways as well as main roads, such as the IP2. As an alternative to Lisbon airport, there is Badajoz airport which is 100km away and has normal and low cost flights.
Prices and Conditions
Roque, is a special place with an environment centered on Nature, intimate, peaceful and silent, which we want to preserve with civility and affection.
Therefore, we prioritize a balanced occupancy of 1 to 2 people in the suite room and 1 to 3 people in the large apartment, which will provide maximum comfort and quality, despite the house being equipped for more guests.
For holidays, the periods will be one or more weeks, with weekly cleaning.
Given the diversity of solutions we can offer, Just tell us the modality you want:
1. Suite room €280 per week for up to 2 people
2. Large apartment with kitchen and mezzanine for 1 to 3 people €700 / week.
However, not wanting to deprive a larger family of enjoying this paradise, exceptionally we accept that the maximum occupancy of 6 be reached, with a fee of €70/week for each additional member up to 6 people.
3. This option allows the use of the entire house, from 2 to 5 people for €980/week, which in special cases can go up to a maximum occupancy of 8 people and in this case with an increase of €70 per person and per week.
