Riverside House

Our much loved family house has breathtaking views across the pool level to the river beyond and Galicia in Spain. Close to beaches, family-friendly activities, lovely old towns with great restaurants and nightlife. The outdoors are perfect to wind down and relax. Set in a friendly fishing village and an easy one hour reach from Porto airport. The house is situated in a truly unique location on the edge of the lovely River Minho Estuary with far reaching views across to Galicia (Spain) on the other side.

A comfortable and spacious house with pretty gardens containing a private swimming pool, it is enclosed by high walls and enjoys open views across the pool level to the river beyond. It is very much a family home and has been used regularly by our family during the summer. The house occupies a truly wonderful spot on the water´s edge and the very positive comments left by previous guests in the Guest Book speak for themselves! Many guests have returned after their first stay. There are three spacious bedrooms: one double w/ensuite bathroom, two twin bedrooms with shared bathroom. Bathtubs in both bathrooms. Small bathroom with shower downstairs. Big open plan kitchen /dining /living room. Fireplace. Internet is speedy. Large private garden. Pool. Parking for pax 3 cars (not covered). Gated property.

The “eco pathway” that runs next to the house is suitable for jogging and cycling and is part of the Portuguese "Atlantic caminho" to Santiago de Compostela and once in a while you will come across pilgrims en route! Kyaking, sailing and wind surfing are all available on the River Minho.

The Gerês National Park is a comfortable day trip by car as is Santiago de Compostela. The Spanish fishing villages of "A Guarda" and "Baiona" are less than an hour's drive. You will find great surfing beaches close to the house: Moledo is a 10 minute drive and Afife 20 minutes. The historic Portuguese cities of Viana do Castelo, Valença, Braga, Amarante, Barcelos, Ponte de Lima and Guimarães are all viable day trips by car. Porto and it's famous architecture and the unmissable Port Wine Cellars are an easy 50 minutes drive on the motorway south.

What makes our house unique is its location. The ever-changing scenery of the River Minho can be enjoyed from the peaceful garden or through the large kitchen window, which looks like a painting in all kinds of weather.

2000€ /month Available from January 2027 until end of May or June (to be confirmed) Utilities and other costs: Water and electricity bills (paid by us and reimbursed by tenants). 1 months rent damage deposit required upon booking and returned at the end of the stay if there are no damages. We had a great stay. We were lucky that there was a celebration of the local saint who protects Seixas. We enjoyed the beautiful view.
