Riverside House

Our much loved family house has breathtaking views across the pool level to the river beyond and Galicia in Spain. Close to beaches, family-friendly activities, lovely old towns with great restaurants and nightlife. The outdoors are perfect to wind down and relax. Set in a friendly fishing village and an easy one hour reach from Porto airport. The house is situated in a truly unique location on the edge of the lovely River Minho Estuary with far reaching views across to Galicia (Spain) on the other side.

A comfortable and spacious house with pretty gardens containing a private swimming pool, it is enclosed by high walls and enjoys open views across the pool level to the river beyond. It is very much a family home and has been used regularly by our family during the summer. The house occupies a truly wonderful spot on the water´s edge and the very positive comments left by previous guests in the Guest Book speak for themselves! Many guests have returned after their first stay.bedrooms, one double w/ensuite, 2 twin with shared bath. Bathtubs in both bathrooms. Small bathroom with shower downstairs. Big open plan kitchen /dining /living room. Fireplace. Internet is speedy. Large private garden. Pool. Parking for pax 3 cars (not covered). Gated property.

There is an "Eco-pathway" that runs next to the house that is suitable for jogging and cycling. Kyaking, sailing and wind surfing are all available on the River Minho. The Portuguese "Atlantic camiño" to Santiago passes next to the house and once in while you will come across pilgrims en route!

The Gerês National Park is a comfortable day trip by car as is Santiago de Compostela. The Spanish fishing vilages of "A Guarda" and "Baiona" are less than an hour's drive. You will find great surfing beaches 20 minutes drive from the house (Afife is just one example). The historic portuguese cities of Viana do Castelo, Valença, Braga, Amarante, Barcelos, Ponte de Lima and Guimarães are all viable day trips by car. Porto and it's famous architecture and the unmissable Port Wine Cellars are an easy 50 minutes drive on the motorway south.

The house is available to rent from October 2025 until end May 2026. Additional costs are utility bills (water & electricity), 1 weekly clean by our trusted housekeeper and 1 deep clean after vacating the property if their are pets. 1 month rent damage deposit required and returned at the end of the stay if there are no damages.
